Abstract

In March 2019, the number of poor people in Kalimantan Selatan was 192.48 thousand people with a poverty rate of 4.55 percent.
The number of poor people in urban areas is 70.52 thousand people with a poverty rate of 3.53 percent and the number of poor people in rural areas is 121.97 thousand people with a poverty rate of 5.47 percent.
Kalimantan Selatan is the province with the lowest poverty rate on Kalimantan Island. The highest regional poverty rate in Kalimantan occurred in Kalimantan Barat at 7.49 percent.
The role of food commodities towards the formation of the poverty line is 71.21 percent.
The Poverty Depth Index (P1) in Kalimantan Selatan is 0.702 and the Poverty Severity Index (P2) is 0.153.
